this is the first time I sailed plover, my 14' peapod. I had rowed her a couple times before. first from red hook to governers island briefly. then a couple times from sebago after moving her there. first sail went way better than i expected. i was terrified and had been dreading or at least fighting lots of friction to actually put her in the water and hoist sail. the gaff and boom jaws i made worked fine even if they were overbuilt and squeeky. things got a bit hairy when i did a terrible jibe and without a cunningham. but i didn't go in and it was fine. haven't convinced sem to come sailing with me yet.. they are still traumatized from watching me. i'm so so excited for it to warm up a bit and get back to boat projects. i've got big plans for this season. first video project i really shot on the ts5. still working on figuring out what accessories make things much better. i have a small magic arm but its a bit fiddly and corroded. thinking next test will be a small tripod. we'll see.Â
